Two Year Anniversary Bash

Andrew  |  July 2

2YearLogo
We’re turning two and ready to celebrate on Saturday, July 11th! Get ready for food, specialty beers, and an amazing music line up! We’ll start tapping ourone off brews starting at 1pm and will tap every hour until 9pm. Our staff is already planning so get ready for some exciting things to be release for this day only!We are also excited to announce our music line up for this throw down:

1:00 – 3:30pm – Mountain Homes; With influences ranging from singer songwriters such as Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, and Leonard Cohen to bands such as R.E.M, Balmorhea, and Broken Social Scene, it goes without saying that the bands musical taste as well as instrumentation is eclectic to say the least. The group was formed in 2011 and has played regularly around the upstate since their inception. Mountain Homes play the opening day of Quest Brewing Co, along with several dates during the yearly Thursday Night Music Summer Series. We are so excited they can join us!

3:30 – 5:30 – Darby Wilcox & The Peep Show; They are back! Darby has struck out on her own as a strikingly impressive solo artist as well as a band leader. Darby’s solo performances and recordings offer a unique window into the soul of this artist but things get a little more rambunctious when she is accompanied by her band of misfits she lovingly refers to as “The Peep Show”. In either incarnation, Darby Wilcox is an outstanding performer with one hell of a story to tell… Darby’s first solo EP She Took to the Sea is the first chronicle of the tales of a young musician that has a lifetime of stories to share. It is inspired by her travels, her raw emotions and an innocence that prevails despite her aged soul. Watch out for what surprises Darby may bring to the stage this day

6:00 – 8:00pm – The Shadowboxers; The Shadowboxers have a passion for captivating lyrics, tight harmonies, and soulful vocals. Founding members Scott Schwartz, Matt Lipkins, and Adam Hoffman experienced an almost-instantaneous musical compatibility when they first started writing together. They’ve forged a cohesive sound based on a shared reverence for the strong, taut harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel, D’Angelo, and The Beatles. This young band’s unified sound has an R&B-soaked, smart perspective replete with an abundance of vocal talent and songwriting skill. In the short time they’ve been playing together, The Shadowboxers have found a collective voice that is intelligent, soulful, and catchy. Recently recognized as one of the GA bands you need know by Paste Magazine, we are so amped to have this trio playing our stage for this special day!

-Per state law, patrons will be limited to 3 pints of beer per person.

‘Tonight’s Noise was formed in early 2012 in upstate South Carolina with the goal in mind of bringing together the most capable and diverse musicians the southeast has to offer. A trio of working musicians who can reach from deep down, sultry blues to blistering fast bluegrass bliss at the nod of a head. With an array of originals taking you across landscapes of latin grooves and funk flavors with a new grass/roots feel that reminds you that you’re still home.

Bassist Sam Kruer and guitarist Matt Fassas first met at Eastern Kentucky University where both were studying music and getting hired out by a variety of local talent, including their own college music professors. Around the same time, mandolin player Matt Purinton was making his first big move from the Carolinas out west to Colorado where he toured the west coast and Rocky Mountains with various jam/bluegrass outfits.

Around early 2009 the Carolina’s were calling Purinton to come back home, and for Fassas to find a new start. Greenville, SC provided a comfy nest for the musicians to grow, and a nice place for Kruer to land in mid 2011. Now Tonight’s Noise is taking over and turning heads as they gear up for a tour in Fall 2012.

Members of Tonight’s Noise have performed with or opened for the following artists: Leon Russell, The Avett Brothers, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Rebecca Lynn, John Keane, The Asylum Street Spankers, The Blind Corn Liquor Pickers, and many more…’

Calumet Release Party

Andrew  |  April 23

burial

Be at Quest on Thursday, April 23rd during Greenville Craft Beer Week for the release of our collaborative brew with Burial Beer Co. Together, we brewed Calumet (translates to peace pipe), a 5% strawberry rhubarb Grisette. Not familiar with this style? Well, Grisette, a now dead style, was known in its prime as the drink of the Belgian miners, while its close cousin, the Saison , was known as the drink of the Belgian farmers. Both brewmasters were inspired with reviving a style that beer consumers may not have come in contact with before.

We will have Thoroughfare Food Truck and Don Vincente on site for dining option along with Chocolate Moose and Fields of Gold Farm Goat Milk Products for dessert options. Milli Fungus will be pumping out the tunes all night (or until 10pm), so come out for the party!

SC Comicon Drink & Draw

Andrew  |  March 18

comiccon

Saturday, March 21 from 7 to 11 pm at Quest Brewing Company will be the first ever Drink and Draw sponsored by SC Comicon and Borderlands Comics and Games in honor of Jeremy Dale. The event will be a fun, relaxing way to wind down after the first day of the two-day convention. Paper and coasters will be provided for guests to draw on. Pieces are then donated and purchased to raise money for charity. From novice to professional and from hobby to collector, the Drink and Draw is fun for people of all artistic skill levels!

SC Comicon’s Drink and Draw will be a way to honor the memory of Jeremy Dale our friend and comic creator who passed away last year. Jeremy is best known for his work on GI Joe and Popgun vol 1, but it was his most recent work on Skyward that Jeremy was beginning to shine as a comic creator.

Proceeds raised from this year’s event will be divided up between Team Cul de Sac and the charity of Kelly Dale’s choosing, which is the Hero Initiative. Team Cul de Sac in conjunction with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research raises money and awareness for Parkinson’s research. Team Cul de Sac (teamculdesac.blogspot.com) was founded by Chris Sparks in honor of our friend and cartoonist Richard Thompson after Richard was diagnosed with the disease. Hero Initiative (heroinitiative.org) raises money to help comic creators in need.
