We all know that the rains brought on by Hurricane Joaquin devastated parts of South Carolina and, even though the Upstate did not suffer the level of damage as our friends in the Lowcountry and Midlands, we did suffer some losses of our own.
One loss that is near and dear to our hearts was the cancellation of the Saturday edition of the Albino Skunk Music Festival. When Mother Nature intervened in early October, the festival was assigned an unenviable task – sell no tickets for Saturday, its busiest day, but still pay the bands that traveled.
Glynn Zeigler has done so much for the Upstate music community over the years that we want to take this opportunity to help him recoup some of those losses. Sunday Skunkday will be a day of music featuring some of our favorite local Skunk Fest alumni. There will be food, beers, a silent auction/raffle and even a morning yoga class (starting at 11am). This is a celebration of all that Skunk Fest means to us as we donate proceeds from the event to help our friend out this fall so he can focus on planning a triumphant Skunk return in the spring!
We are requesting a minimum of $10 donations for entrance. 100% of this donation will go to Zeigler & the efforts of the Spring Skunk Fest!
11:00 am – FREE Hour yoga class hosted by Kate Townsend. We just ask if you participate in the yoga class, you make a donation to our cause.
